Our story began in the emergency department, where every patient left a lesson. One, however, has stayed with me above all else.
When people are at their most vulnerable, they shouldn’t have to fight the healthcare system as well.
Throughout my career in some of South Africa’s busiest public hospitals, I saw the same pattern repeated countless times. Many patients weren’t critically ill because medicine had failed them. They reached that point because care had been delayed, fragmented or simply difficult to access.
Behind every emergency was a story that had started long before the ambulance arrived. Chronic conditions left unmanaged. Preventable illnesses allowed to progress. Employees postponing medical care because taking time away from work wasn’t always possible. Families trying to navigate an increasingly complicated healthcare system.
It became clear to me that healthcare shouldn’t begin at the point of crisis.

That belief became the foundation of Envisimed.
Founded in 2019, Envisimed was built around a simple philosophy: exceptional healthcare should be accessible, personal and proactive. It should fit into people’s lives, not disrupt them.
